Information On open and club matches

          OPEN MATCHES

 

We hold open matches all year.
 
We have them on a Saturday and sunday, and every bank holiday
 The draw is at 9am and we fish 10am till 3.30pm.
 
 
 
We also have Tuesday evening matches through the
 summer when the light is with us.
And we draw from 4.00 and fish 5 - 5.30pm till 9pm.

We do a bonus ball on sat and tues and are both separate.
We pay out on the bonus ball for 1st,2nd and 3rd so if you get the bonus ball and come 1st you get all what is in the pot ,
if You come 2nd you get half
and if you come third you get a third Of it,
if no one wins It, it rolls over to the next week until it reaches £60 then it is capped , and any remainder is then added once it has been won.
 
To enter the bonus ball is optional and  costs £1.
we also do a optional £2 raffle
 
 
     Match rules       
 
All fishery rules apply with a few extra as follows :
 
1)1) No bait to go in the water untill the all in. 
 

 2) Only 1 rod or pole to be used at one time

       (you can set as many as you like up).

3) You must fish the peg you draw you can’t swap or move
 
4) No floating hook baits or feed bait. please make sure all
    your pellets and castors sink before fishing.
    no bread allowed in matches.
 
5) Fish must be netted in your own swim not a different swim.
    any fish netted in a different swim do not count.
 
6) Fishery keep nets only –
    2 nets to be used.
    1 net for carp and barble 1lb and over, Tench  2lb and over.
    and 1 net for everything else,
     big bream go in The sliver fish net as these can easily be damaged by 
     the carp.
     please make sure you are using the correct nets for the lake you are  
     fishing as the different lakes have different nets. this is very important.
 
7) Nets to be left in the water at the end of the match for us to take out,  and we do all weighing in. even if you are not weighing in.
 
8) 40lb maximum in nets if you think you are going over this weight please get another net. (better to be 25lb then 45lb).
    anything over 40lb is not counted.
 
9) plumbing up whilst fishing another line is not allowed.
 
 poting in feed with a cupping kit whilst fishing another
    line is allowed.
 
10) all fish to be netted with a landing net.
 
   
11) 1kg groundbait alowed on the kingfisher & woodpecker this may be feeder fished, cupped in, catterpulted or thrown.
 
 
 
anyone breaking any of these rules will not be weighed in

FISHERY KEEPNETS ONLY. DIFFERENT NETS FOR DIFFERENT LAKES PLEASE CHECK WHICH ONES TO USE.(DONT JUST GRAB ANY YOU SEE)
 
YOU MAY USE YOUR OWN LANDING NETS BUT THEY MUST BE DIPPED. EXCEPT ON CUCKOO CANAL WHERE IT IS
FISHERY ONLY LANDING NETS ASWELL, YOU WILL NEED YOUR HANDLE.
 
ALL NETS ARE TO BE LEFT IN THE WATER AND FISHERY STAFF WILL TAKE THEM OUT TO BE WEIGHED.
 
YOU MAY USE AND READ YOUR OWN SCALES IF YOU LIKE OR WE CAN USE OUR SCALE AND WE CAN READ THE SCALES FOR YOU IF YOU LIKE.

2008 season saw no change to 2007 best weights, although there were some very close calls (see open match weights 08).
 
also these weights are for our townsend lakes open matches not club matches which may have had better results.
